Running On The Road – Vancouver

Holy Cow- I absolutely LOVE Vancouver- it is beautiful. Years ago, I remember coming with my parents, and having my first Starbucks – (you always remember your first Starbucks, huh?) and distinctly remembering through the cloud of hormones that were coursing through my teenage body, that I would very much like to return to Vancouver some day. Of course, I was there with work (see below), so my time was limited, but I managed to squeeze a quick jog or two in, and I’m so glad I did.

I found this incredible loop that took me along the water front and up round through the park before cutting through the city.

It was so good, that I did it the day we left as well – absolutely stunning:2013-07-21 08.31.14

I think what makes a perfect city, is the combination or water, mountains and sun – and at least when I was there Vancouver had all of the above:

They also have a Starbucks on every corner. Literally, every corner. It was pretty amazing and I wish I would have done a Starbucks count on my run, sadly I was too distracted by how gorgeous this town i

The Vancouver folk Festival, aside from having some serious sausage, was also right on the water, although I was a little bit concerned during soundcheck with all the blankets that were already out at 10am…

  1. Didn’t I tell you it was special 😃

  2. TartanJogger

    Great pics; looks fantastic!

  3. We spent one day in Vancouver before leaving for a cruise. I would definitely like to go back.

  4. Love Vancouver, and would go back any time. I don’t recall exactly when I had my first Starbucks but I do recall thinking it was a bit strong.
I do recall when and where I drank my first Sam Adams. And it was awesome!

  5. My first Starbucks? I was in downtown Seattle pre-conference, and I wandered down to get my morning coffee. Guess I gave them a funny look when they asked if I wanted my latte wet or dry. (If it’s dry, how would I drink it?)
And I have yet to experience a perfect run. Still a rookie in that realm, so I’m just happy to survive the distance. Hoping someday to get there…
AND to Vancouver. It looks absolutely amazing! Have I mentioned lately that I envy your traveler lifestyle?
